Hannu with his trademark cap in Port Grimaud

Meeting the champions :
The most Italian of all the Finnish drivers: Markku Alen

While taking the picture with Markku Alen, these three friendly seniors rushed to Hannu and asked to go on the picture with him too. :)
It was a real honour: Simo Lampinen, Rauno Aaltonen and Tony Mason... That is quite a few victories in the World Championship on one picture !

One of the five best rally drivers ever (in my book at least): Tommi Makinen

Here with a true Gentleman of the rallysport: Malcolm Wilson.
Most people know him as the Big Boss' of the Ford M-Sport rallyteam, but not so long ago, he was a rally champion himself.

The younger drivers:
Mikko Hirvonen, who lost out on the World Championship by one point :(
(Sorry for the low quality picture)

Chris Atkinson

A 'chapter' by himself in everyone's photoalbum: The most likeable and smart rallydriver ! Petter Solberg!

... and co-driver Phil Mills

The ones we didn't manage to meet (yet) :
His namesake: Hannu Mikkola
(Apologies to the Ford boys for the hat... it was the warmest hat we could find ;) )

His great idol ! He became world champion the year he was born (2000) and again the year he came to RallyGB for the first time (2002).
Unfortunately, we never managed to meet 'him'. Hopefully he will be at one of the next rallies of GB.

Few 'random' pictures:
All geared up to face the mud and the rain !

The "Belgian gang" at Ford: Matthias Boon, our up and coming driver and the 'Ross Brawn' of rallying Mr Christian Loriaux, the man who designed the winning Impreza earlier this decade, turned the former Focus into a winner and is the father of the current machine.

One of the Tsar's at the rally...
